The Indigo Middle School for grades 6-8 continues the approach developed in the elementary program of teaching the whole child.

The following are the electives for 2011-2012:

Band: This is an all year elective Tuesday thru Friday. You will learn how to read music and play a traditional band instrument such as flute, clarinet, or trumpet.

Art: This is a two hour studio block of time that will be all year long. Students who sign up for this will be expected to be productive and independent artists. It will be scheduled on Monday (you can sign up for both art and band) Students who do not choose band will have the choice of an additional alternative elective.

Alternative electives:
This is a year-long elective choice that will be scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (students may sign up for alternative electives and Art)

1st trimester: Living Arts

2nd trimester: Science
• animal biology

• forces in motion
• simple machines
• CSI-Crime Scene Investigation


3rd trimester: Technology
• stop animation
• computer animation
• robotics
